Mt. Timpanogos snow covered

Tons of snow covering Mt. Timpanogos. There was one shot I really wanted to snap on this outing but was unable to due to the lack of suitable snow boots to get to the right location. Maybe next time?

Clearing the Snow Storm

Lots of snow falling in throughout the US right now. This shot was taken almost exactly a year ago and reminds me of what many may be facing now. Good luck with the snow removal.

California

I miss living in CA. Great weather, great people, and the beach. Swam in the ocean for the first time tonight in what seems like forever. Will soon take the surf board out for a long overdue session. This shot, if I were to make a collage of what makes me think of California, would be included. Hopefully some surf shots to come soon.

Fishing Shots

Went fishing a few days ago with my brother and his sons, these are a few shots of our catch. Daylight was fading fast so some of these were tricky.

Super Moto at Five Mile

My brother has two motor bikes, and happens to be a very nice guy. We went riding together for a few hours Saturday. Perfect weather, perfect conditions. Of course had to take the camera.

Shanell Graduation/Senior Shots

This was a fun shoot my sister helped me with the hair and rain control. If you could have seen her off camera, it was hilarious. Made it easy for Shanell to smile.

Supercross Salt Lake

My brother won sweet tickets to Supercross in SLC yesterday. Snowed, hailed, and rained on us, I had no weather equipment so the camera stayed in my bag most the night. Here are some of the shots when I dared take the camera out.

Product shots - hair accessories.

Took some shots for a hair accessory website. These are just a few.

Corcoran California Train stop

A few months back I was touring the central valley in California and came across some interesting fixtures. The shot of the train below was scary. I was using a 12mm lens so I was much closer to the train that it looks and it was going fast. I realized too late that I was pinned against the fence. Rocks flew everywhere as it buzzed by.

Swing Time

This is not the highest quality photo, the sharpest, clearest, or best composition that I have ever seen or taken, but as far as portraying pure 100% emotion, this hits the nail on the head. You can't help but feel exactly what Simon is experiencing the first time he was on a swing alone when you see this photo. Sheer joy. Reminds me of the simple pleasure a dog must feel when putting it's head out a car window. The caption to this photo should be Weeeeeeee!

Simon Growing.

Simon continues to grow, and seems to be learning new things everyday. He is moving everywhere which means you have to keep an eye on him.

Mt. Timpanogos in White

Woke up early enough to take some shots of Mt. Timpanogos covered in snow after the last big snow. Wish I had a wider angle lens, I had a few angles and ideas that would have been 100 x better with a 10 or 12 mm lens. The lake is still frozen over, and started to crawl with ice fisherman by the time I left. I should have taken gloves, my fingers were brittle, frozen and had no feeling as I walked back to my car. Being out on a frozen lake is bizarre, listening to all the pops and creaks as the ice reacts to the sun coming up. Its pretty eery.

Apartment Project.

I recently had the opportunity to take various architectural shots of different apartment complexes. I rented a Nikon 12-24 lens for the job and discovered I need to buy one now. Wide angle is great.

Family Photos

Had the chance to shoot family portraits last week for some friends. These are some of my favorites from the portrait session. I had a chance to work on some additional lighting for this photo session. I used some umbrellas and some wireless triggers for my speedlights. Wireless flash triggers do come in handy.

Mt. Timpanogos, finally hiked.

Finally climbed Timp, I gave my dad a days notice and we both climbed through the night. Next time I need to bring more than granola bars.
