I kind of like the second one because I can see more of the green leaves. But it's always nice to have the subject zoomed in and in most of the frame.
second - before I read what Heather wrote.
I like the shadows of the trunk - they draw you into the picture.
I think I like the first one better, I like how the green starts the right border and not the brown tree trunk in the second.
